Office Outfit of the Day

Blouse: Rebecca Taylor
Pants: J Crew
Cuff: Mint Style JMB0165 $44.00
Shoes: Shoe Mint

If you work in a casual or artistic environment, it can become really easy to get sucked into wearing paired down outfits of jeans and tee shirts.  It doesn't take much more effort than putting on these old staples to pull together an outfit like this one.  The shoes and large cuff add most of the drama here, but the unexpected pairing of colors adds dimension.  If you'd like to order the cuff, please use the link to email me or look for they Buy Now button to the left.

Date Night Outfit of the Day

Eyeshadow: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Pink

The busy season of weddings and graduations is over, but there are still a few weekends committed to special occasions over the rest of the summer.  This late in the season, most events are occurring in the evenings to avoid the heat of the day.  Evening weddings make it perfectly acceptable to wear black, but this dress with a pink underlay is lighter than something that's all black.  Keep your accessories and makeup on the pink side to keep it from being too dramatic.  If you are interested in purchasing the Mint Style earrings, you can you the Buy Now option to the left, or send me an email at

Date Night Outfit of the Day

Tee: J Crew
Skirt: Reiss
Earrings: Bauble Bar
Sandals: Badgley Mischka

One of my favorite things to do in warmer weather is to go out on a weeknight with my husband and sit outside someplace having a glass of wine.  It's almost like a mini vacation when it's seems so much more reasonable to sitting in the sunshine drinking and eating a snack with nowhere else to be.  To feel like you are away on vacation, why not dress for it too?  These casual separates seem dressier when paired with a strappy sandal and a bright bag.

Casual Outfit of the Day

Skirt: Oasis
Belt: Rachel Zoe
Jacket: Dorothy Perkins

In Pasadena, where I live, we now have to take our own bags to stores.  Not just grocery stores, but anywhere we are shopping.  I've taken to always carrying a tote bag when I'm hitting the stores to be able to easily place any purchases in my bag.  This Anya Hindmarch bag would be quirky and fun for running to the pharmacy and the dry cleaners.  Paired with this cute tee from J Crew, a comfortable skirt and boots, the belt pulls everything together to keep the outfit from looking sloppy.  Keep the jacket with you in case your day turns into an evening out.

Office Outfit of the Day

Boots: Pour la Victoire (On Sale)
Earrings: Bauble Bar
Handbag: Sophie Hulme

I am a sucker for texture.  Much more than color or pattern, I want to always incorporate texture into outfits.  Every since we were little, we have the desire to reach out and touch something that looks like it's shiny or bumpy.  During the warmer months, texture is one thing that is hard to incorporate because texture usually adds weight.  This dress jumped out at me while I was browsing through Stylebop.  At first, I really thought it was boucle, one of my favorite textures.  On closer inspection, it's a patterned silk in a very ladylike cut perfect for the office on a hot summer day.  To give it some edge, I've paired it with an ankle boot that has a discreet platform (and is on sale) and some amazing earrings.  You can wear an office-appropriate stud earring but still have edge when you find something like this rose gold and quartz pair.  You can also switch the boots out for a taller pair and throw on a black blazer like the one in this outfit when it starts to get cooler.  It took me forever to get my first gel manicure, but now I'm hooked.  They simply do last forever, but if you want to be more economical and do them yourself, invest in a system for home use.  That way you can even change it before it really needs it and not feel guilty about spending the money.

Casual Outfit of the Day

Dress: J Crew
Blouse: Dorothy Perkins
Shoes: Nine West
Lipgloss: Buxom in April

This dress is great on its own, but I think adding a thin layer underneath gives the neckline some contrast.  If you have a collared blouse in the vibrant aqua from the shoes, it would be even better.  A pretty, light lip is all you need for a day of running around and doing errands, and Buxom has great plumping action to give your lips the boost that nature might have skipped.

Office Outfit of the Day

Necklace: MintStyle
Clutch: Alexander Wang
Wedges: Kate Spade

I have been having a lot of lunch meetings lately.  You want to be professional, comfortable, and not carry a huge amount of clutter with you to cramped tables.  This light crepe coat looks equally good paired with a black shift dress or navy pants and blouse.  Keep things simple and practical with a nude wedge and a simple clutch.  The necklace is the Venetian Pendant (Item JMN0154 $42)) one of my all time favorite pieces from the Mint Style line, which I carry.  If you'd like to order it, you can click on the Buy Now button to the left or email me directly.

Date Night Outfit of the Day

Jacket: J Crew
Blouse: MANGO

Sometimes date night is more of a formal affair, but for so many people pants are preferred over dresses or skirts.  So why not put a new spin on the tuxedo with a white dinner jacket.  A white blouse under the jacket is more traditional, but this silky black one provides a better contrast to the lapels, and if you slip off the jacket during the evening, the embellishment on the shoulders adds some extra sparkle.  If you leave the jacket on, your toes will still be bejeweled.  Keep jewelry discreet and add color by wearing a red lip.

Office Outfit of the Day

Dress: Warehouse
Bracelet: JewelMint
Shoes: Tildon
Bag: Aldo
Blazer: RED Valentino

Around this time of year every year, the fall clothes start to appear in the magazines.  Since I live in Southern California, we are just getting into the hottest weather of the year when this happens.  Without fail though, I start to dream of cooler days and the clothes that go with them.  This outfit is helping me feel like I'm transitioning while still being light enough for hot summer days.  It's also the perfect outfit for a work day to evening transition.  Remove the jacket, and the cutout in the back reveals some lovely summer skin without being too baring.  The bracelet and shoe add a bit of edge, and the bag has a classic feminine feel.

Casual Outfit of the Day

Dress: Kain
Necklace: JewelMint
Clutch: Eric Javits
Sandals: Yellow Box
Bracelet: BaubleBar

You might be lucky enough to be heading away to the beach for your summer vacation, but since I have a big trip planned for this fall, my summer is going to have to consist of day trips and brunches.  This outfit is great for travel but also makes you feel like you've been at the shore while you are brunching or out for a casual dinner with friends.  Make some beachy waves in your hair spritzed with sea salt spray and paint your nails island blue.  The accessories all have a nautical/beachy vibe without being over the top.

Maxi: LNA

If you are comfortable with bare arms, trade the navy blue Kain dress for this light blue maxi.  The cutout in the back takes it from day to night easily and is perfect for showing off your new tan.

Casual Outfit of the Day

Watch: Michael Kors
Sandals: B Brian Atwood

As the days get hotter, nothing seems more appealing than a light, flowing dress paired with pastels.  The pink even extends to the rose gold in the watch here.  This outfit could see you through running errands or to brunch or the movies.  Anywhere you need to stay cool while still being pulled together.
