I love layers - if they are done right.  Putting on too many overly bulky items just adds more bulk.  We all want to cover our less than flattering areas, but layering is an art.  The key here is that you can see all of the elements of the layering from the turtleneck on the bottom of the stack to the coat worn open over it all.  The button earrings aren't overly fussy and the booties have a heel that isn't too narrow to provide stability and comfort.
