It's that time of year again. Ladies, start your engines:
Sweater: Joseph
Blouse: J Crew
Skirt: Dorothy Perkins
Loafers: Jeffrey Campbell
Perfect for transitional spring days, what's better than light layers? And these loafers are like some of the pricier versions with embellished heels that I'm seeing everywhere right now.
Coat: Dorothy Perkins
Skirt: Alice + Olivia
Shirt: J Crew
Sweater: Acne Studios
Cuff: BaubleBar
Boots: Jeffrey Campbell
Is it an office outfit, a casual outfit, or a date night outfit? This outfit could be the perfect mix that will work for all three. If the boots are too chunky for work and the sweater too slouchy, switch them out for a pair of heels and a fitted v-neck. The ruffled blouse is a mix of feminine and traditional tailoring and will work well into many different outfits.

While flipping through October's Vogue, I was stopped by this image of Karlie Kloss in the spread "Live and Kicking". This outfit is just how I would have loved to dress when I was in my twenties. So how to translate it to a wearable outfit now? By finding a less overt way to bring the plaid into the outfit while still bringing the color of the skirt and the texture of the boots in. Oh, and by reducing the sticker shock from $3,330 to $589.85. That's less than 18% of the original cost...
Blazer: Alice + Olivia
Skirt: Simone Rocha
Sweater: Topshop
Booties: BCBG
Bracelets: BaubleBar
There's nothing that I love more than a good plaid except a skirt with some texture except a skirt with some unique details. You see where I'm going with this, right?
Turtleneck: Autumn Cashmere
Skirt: Gucci
Earrings: Bauble Bar
Booties: Steve Madden
I know, I know, I've posted two beige turtlenecks in a row, but how great is a beige turtleneck? This Gucci skirt is a little more high-end then I usually like to post in outfits here, but there is just something about that calls to me. I will probably be on the hunt myself for a less expensive option. The chunkiness of the bootie pairs well with the knits especially since it has a little bit of a longer length then what you normally see on a bootie. This will make the ankle seem slimmer and, for most people, will be a better option when paired with a skirt. I've named this a casual outfit, but the earrings add a bit of drama and make this a great transitional day to evening out for drinks kind of outfit.
Earrings: Eddie Borgo
Ring: Bottega Veneta
Coats: Dolce & Gabbana
Skirt: 3.1 Phillip Lim
Bag: Ted Baker
Pumps: Paul Andrew
There is just something so classic and ladylike about this outfit. I don't know whether it is the lace of the coat, the drape of the skirt, the delicate straps of the pumps, the color of the bag, or the bold cocktail ring, but it feels like you could have been wearing this 60 years ago or 60 years from now and would still be the best dressed person in the room.
Top: T by Alexander Wang
Skirt: Dagmar
Pumps: Jimmy Choo
Necklace: Jozica
Ring: Oscar de la Renta
A pencil skirt and pullover top are my favorite combo for an office outfit. It's so simple yet so professional and pulled together. Paired with a simple, classic pump and statement jewelry, this monochromatic look makes it look so effortless to be so ready for the job.
