I strongly follow the philosophy of mixing high and low.  If I'm going to invest in a high-end piece, I make sure it's not too terribly trendy but that it has interesting details.  I also firmly believe in looking for a bargain especially for pieces that I'm not going to wear routinely.  I scanned right past this skirt because I thought it was a little too flashy until I saw the ruffle detail on the back.  Because of the glitz of the fabric, I wanted to pair it with more structured pieces and keep the accessories from going over the top.
